Course Overview

The NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC) is an Ofqual regulated qualification, forming the foundational year of a Computing/IT degree pathway. Equivalent to the first year of an IT degree in the UK university system, this diploma offers students the chance to cultivate critical thinking and study skills within both computing and business contexts. Through a blend of academic and vocational subjects, students gain essential knowledge and skills expected in the computing industry, empowering them to enter the profession and apply their expertise across various IT-related functions.

Entry Requirements

Prospective students seeking entry onto the NCC Education L5DC qualification must hold one of the following:

• NCC Education Level 4 Diploma in Computing (L4DC) OR
• A local or international qualification deemed equivalent to the NCC Education L4DC, subject to prior agreement with NCC Education.

For non-native English speakers, a minimum score of 5.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or equivalent is required. Alternatively, candidates can opt for the free NCC Education Higher English Placement Test administered by Accredited Partner Centres.

Direct Entry: Applications for entry are accepted at any point and evaluated based on:

• The applicant's general educational background, deemed suitable for the intended entry level.
• The applicant's computing knowledge, assessed for equivalence and appropriateness to the intended entry level.
